What is Sedation Dentistry?

Dr. Haddad provides oral sedation and nitrous oxide sedation dentistry options.
- Oral Sedation is a pill that is taken orally. Patients often report feeling relaxed and hardly remember anything about the procedure. This form of sedation takes a few hours to wear off and will require a ride home.
- Nitrous Oxide is a gas offer referred to as “laughing gas.” Nitrous oxide is breathed in through a special mask and helps patients feel relaxed and comfortable. Patients are conscious and able to respond to Dr. Haddad. Nitrous oxide is no longer active once the mask is removed, so patients will be able to drive themselves home.
Sedation dentistry can also provide Dr. Haddad the opportunity to complete multiple dental procedures in one sitting. This option can save patients time, money and repeat visits to the dentist for the same dental concern.
